A Run Through The Past

In Memory Runner you will be exploring a dream like mind scape as your path through the level determines whether you forget the past or confront it in this short 2D puzzle platformer where you have the ability to erase platformers and eventually replace them with new tools. 

Will you choose to forget the past or Embrace it?

Mechanics

Our core mechanic for memory runner is the ability to erase platforms from the level. with this later expanding into allowing you/the player to replace  platforms with alternative effects.  Every level has two ways to complete it with one showing you what the level is and choosing to keep the memory,  the other forgets it making future levels harder.

Narrative

Max is someone troubled by some difficult experiences when he goes to use a machine that allows the user to erase memories of the past.  after being briefed on how the machine is supposed to be used he goes off as he is given a chance to erase memories that have been bothering him for a while.

Controls

• A&D/Arrow Keys = Movement
• W/Arrow UP = Jump
• E = Pause
• Left Click = Erase/Replace

Context

This Game prototype is made as part of the Wilfrid Laurier University Capstone Project in 2026. If you enjoyed your time we are happy to hear feedback but this project will probably not be worked on in the future.

Install Guide

For the exe file the built in game maker setup will play and is a straight forward walkthrough.

For the ZIP file just unzip the file and run the application named Memory runner.

But most import of all remember to have fun.
